BPM to Tempo Percentage Calculator

Convert original and target BPM into a tempo setting, and estimate your track’s new duration.

Enter two BPM values. Add the original duration if you also want the new length. No audio upload or account needed.

Minutes:seconds, such as 3:00, or seconds, such as 180.

100% is the original speed. Pitch Tempo’s audio tool supports 50–150%. This calculator shows when a setting is outside that range.

Tempo percentage examples

Each example starts with a three-minute recording at 120 BPM.

Target BPM, tempo setting and estimated duration
Target BPMTempoNew duration
9075%4:00
10083.33%3:36
150125%2:24

How the calculation works

Tempo % = target BPM ÷ original BPM × 100. For 120 → 100 BPM, calculate 100 ÷ 120 × 100 = 83.33%.

New duration = original duration ÷ (tempo % ÷ 100). A three-minute track at 75% lasts about four minutes. A higher tempo makes the track shorter.

Duration is an estimate calculated from the unrounded BPM ratio. Entered tempo is rounded to two decimals. An estimated original BPM, changes in the recording’s tempo and rounding can affect the final result.

Using the result with your audio

To apply a supported setting, change your audio’s tempo with Pitch Tempo. Choose Change pitch / tempo and enter the percentage in Tempo (%). Keep pitch at 0 semitones to preserve the key.

This calculator uses the numbers you enter. It does not detect BPM or process audio. For a 120 BPM source, Pitch Tempo’s 50–150% range covers targets from 60 to 180 BPM.
