Can I slow down music without changing pitch?
Yes. Leave pitch at 0 semitones and choose a tempo below 100%. The available minimum is 75% of the original speed.
TEMPO CHANGER GUIDE
Learn how to slow down or speed up music without changing pitch. Compare tempo percentages, calculate a target BPM and find the right practice speed before opening the audio tool.
Open Tempo Changer on the home page
The audio tool opens on the Pitch Tempo home page.
Go to the tempo changer on the home page and upload a supported audio file. After preparation, select Change pitch / tempo to open the editing controls.
Set a percentage from 75% to 125%. Keep pitch at 0 semitones to preserve the original key. Choose Listen preview to hear the result.
Choose Download full track, select a format and wait for processing. Listen to the completed file before saving it to your device.
100% keeps the original speed. A value below 100% slows the audio down; a value above 100% speeds it up. At 75%, the recording plays 25% slower. At 125%, it plays 25% faster.
If you know the original BPM, multiply it by the tempo percentage divided by 100. To reach a target BPM, divide the target by the original BPM and multiply by 100. The result must fit within the available 75–125% range.
| Tempo | New BPM | Approximate duration |
|---|---|---|
| 75% | 90 BPM | 5:20 |
| 80% | 96 BPM | 5:00 |
| 100% | 120 BPM | 4:00 |
| 125% | 150 BPM | 3:12 |
The five-minute limit applies to the uploaded source. A slower exported version can be longer.
A music speed changer can give you more time to hear a guitar phrase, learn a piano passage or rehearse a vocal entrance. Start at a comfortable pace within the available range, then move closer to 100% as the passage becomes familiar.
For faster playback, try a modest increase before choosing the maximum. This BPM changer preserves pitch when the pitch control is unchanged, so a faster track does not automatically make voices higher.
The preview uses the first 20 seconds of source audio. At 80%, that excerpt plays for about 25 seconds; at 125%, about 16 seconds. Change either setting and request a new preview before exporting the whole recording.
Read the BPM finder overview if you need an estimated starting point. In the audio workspace on the home page, analyze the track first to see tempo relative to that reading. You can also type a target such as “Set tempo to 110 BPM” in its chat, provided it falls within the permitted range.
To move the music higher or lower as well, learn about the independent pitch changer. Every edit is based on the original uploaded audio rather than repeatedly changing an earlier preview.
The Pitch Tempo home page is your starting point for both the tempo detector and the full audio speed changer workflow.

Yes. Slower audio lasts longer and faster audio ends sooner. Approximate new duration equals original duration divided by the speed multiplier.
No. Percentage changes work without analysis. Detect BPM first if you want to compare the estimated original and new tempo or request a target BPM.
The current editor changes pitch and tempo and exports the result. It does not add reverb or include an adjustable practice loop.
Upload an MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, Opus, AIFF or WMA file. Each track can be up to 100 MB and 5 minutes long. A readable audio recording is required; an unsupported, damaged or protected file may not open.
