Can I change pitch without changing speed?
Yes. Set the pitch shift and keep tempo at 100%. Pitch and tempo are independent controls.
PITCH CHANGER GUIDE
Learn how to change the key of a song without changing its speed. Explore semitone shifts, transposition examples and the preview workflow, then open the free pitch changer on the home page.
Open Pitch Changer on the home page
The audio tool opens on the Pitch Tempo home page.
Visit the free pitch changer on the home page and upload your audio. Once it is prepared, select Change pitch / tempo. Finding the original key first is optional.
Move pitch up or down in semitones. Leave tempo at 100% to keep the original pace, then choose Listen preview to apply your settings to the short excerpt.
When the preview sounds right, choose Download full track and an output format. After processing, play the finished audio and download it.
A semitone is one step between neighboring notes on a piano, including the black keys. Positive values raise pitch; negative values lower it. Twelve semitones make an octave, so the available range is one octave down to one octave up.
An audio pitch changer moves the whole recording by the same interval. It shifts vocals and instruments together. Use it as a song key changer for an existing backing track or as a music pitch shifter for a sample.
| Pitch setting | Resulting key | Change |
|---|---|---|
| −2 semitones | B♭ major | Down a whole tone |
| +2 semitones | D major | Up a whole tone |
| +5 semitones | F major | Up a perfect fourth |
| +12 semitones | C major, one octave higher | Up an octave |
The working preview starts with the first 20 seconds of your source audio, or the complete track if it is shorter. Changing a pitch or tempo setting clears the previous preview. Choose Listen preview again to hear the new version.
The full export applies your chosen settings to the whole uploaded recording. Download WAV, MP3, FLAC, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus, AIFF or WMA. Large pitch shifts may sound less natural, especially on a dense mix or a voice. Listen before exporting; a lossless output format cannot recover detail already missing from a compressed source.
For karaoke practice, start with a small adjustment: try one or two semitones lower if the high notes feel uncomfortable, then sing along with the preview. This changes the key of a backing track you already have; it does not remove the singer from a recording.
The song key finder overview explains the original key estimate you can use before transposing. To change pace as well, read about the music speed changer.

No. You can shift by semitones immediately after preparation. Run key detection first if you want to see the change relative to a named musical key.
No. This pitch shifter transposes the complete recording uniformly. It does not correct individual out-of-tune notes or isolate the voice from the instruments.
Choose Listen preview after adjusting the controls. Processing takes a moment; it is not a live effect while you move the slider.
Upload an MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, Opus, AIFF or WMA file. Each track can be up to 100 MB and 5 minutes long. A readable audio recording is required; an unsupported, damaged or protected file may not open.
