Keep the file you already have

A voice recording saved as M4A or a practice file in WMA should not need an extra conversion just to get started. Pitch Tempo accepts those common formats alongside MP3, WAV and FLAC. Its 100 MB upload allowance is twice the 50 MB limit listed for Audioalter Pitch Shifter, with a five-minute source-duration limit.

The comparison here is with Audioalter’s Pitch Shifter. That tool offers a wider pitch range, while Pitch Tempo brings pitch changes, independent tempo changes and key/BPM estimates into one workspace.

Change the key and pace in one session

For a backing track that needs a small key change and a slower rehearsal pace, set both controls before exporting. For example, choose −2 semitones and 80% tempo. Pitch Tempo applies both settings to the complete recording, with a preview available before the full download.

You can choose MP3 for a compact listening copy or WAV and FLAC for a lossless export of the processed audio. The format choice is part of the same workflow.

Sound quality comes first

Our focus is clear, natural-sounding audio after a pitch or tempo change. Preview the opening of your recording before export, then download the complete result. WAV and FLAC preserve the processed audio without another lossy encoding step; MP3 offers a compact listening copy.

Keep a copy of the original and choose the smallest change that achieves your musical goal. The source recording and the amount of change affect the final sound.
